Mapping compliance needs to cloud security tool categories
Continuous compliance reporting
If auditors ask for evidence across many accounts on a schedule, the tool that produces it is a posture tool: it checks every resource against rules and maps results to frameworks such as the CIS Benchmarks. The finder adds three points to CSPM for this answer. On the pages we read, Orca lists multi-cloud compliance as a module; Defender for Cloud, Sysdig, Upwind, Wiz and Cortex Cloud name frameworks such as CIS, PCI DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and NIST; Aqua describes out-of-the-box compliance reporting without listing frameworks; for CrowdStrike and SentinelOne frameworks are not listed on the product pages we read.
US public-sector authorization
Selling to US federal agencies usually requires a FedRAMP authorization of the cloud services you use; state and local government programs such as GovRAMP play a similar role. Both assess against NIST SP 800-53 controls. In our sources, Aqua states FedRAMP High Authorization, Wiz says Wiz for Government is FedRAMP High authorized and that Wiz for Gov achieved GovRAMP High on 10 September 2026, CrowdStrike lists Falcon Cloud Security and its container services among FedRAMP High authorized products, Microsoft lists Defender for Cloud in FedRAMP High audit scope for Azure and Azure Government, and SentinelOne states Singularity Cloud Security is available as a FedRAMP High authorized service. Orca states FedRAMP Moderate, and Upwind says it is pursuing FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency; no authorization is stated. Cortex Cloud and Sysdig do not state an authorization on the pages we read.
Disconnected environments
Air-gapped networks cannot reach a vendor's cloud service. On the pages we read, only Aqua describes support for disconnected environments. If this applies to you, it is likely to be the first filter, before categories.
Private cloud and on-premises
If some workloads run outside public clouds, check where each vendor's agent or sensor can run. On the pages we read, the Orca Sensor runs in private cloud and on-premises environments, Defender for Cloud covers on-premises machines through Azure Arc, and Aqua supports private cloud.
A note on evidence
A compliance requirement is binary in a way most features are not: a vendor either holds the authorization or does not. Ask for the authorization record itself, not a page that mentions it, and check its scope and level.
